Plunderer!

Plunderer! is a rules-lite 2d6-based OSR/NSR game heavily inspired by Goodman Games' Dungeon Crawl Classics and Traverse Fantasy's FMC Basic, with additional inspirations from a wide variety of other games. My aim is to add some exciting twists to traditional old-school play while still maintaining a high degree of compatibility with old-school rulesets.

This early version of Plunderer! has 40 digest-sized pages with everything you need to start playing or running the game, including:

• A 2d6-based core resolution mechanic with varying levels of difficulty
• Simple character creation with 3 classes (Fighter, Mage, Expert), 4 peoples (Dwarf, Elf, Halfling, Human), and 36 random backgrounds
• A semi-realistic semi-medieval economy, with different prices based on settlement size
• Rulers for hirelings and retainers
• Simple but versatile combat with fumbles, critical hits, stunts, and advantages
• A one-page guide for the GM to create or convert monsters
• A streamlined DCC-inspired magic system: each spell has the potential to miscast (possibly causing magical mutations!) or to be extra effective
• 36 level-less spells
• Three pages of dungeoncrawling procedures
• Three pages of hexcrawling procedures

• Any necessary rules and layout revisions based on my first round of playtesting

• More spells
• Optional/alternate rules for magic, including leveled spells
• Sample mutations (for magical scourging)

• Generic wilderness and dungeon encounters
• Options for adapting the game to nontraditional settings
• A list of "best practices" for GMs and players, for resolving common in-game and out-of-game issues
